Yeah, if we have a model number it could reveal more. It sounds like a typical dv6000 though. If your research turned up that the GPU needs reseating... that's a bit strange, but it's something the dv6000 and dv9000 series suffered... which usually meant getting a new computer, or trying to gently heat the CPU/GPU with a bit of weight (a few quarters) on top of it. If you have a heat gun, this shouldn't be too hard, I've seen people do it with denatured alcohol and I've tried to do it with a toaster oven. Some people have had success with it... most people aren't comfortable taking their computer apart.

Yeah, laptops aren't designed to be run like that...

A lot of times, I think of the first chapter or two of a story. But, most of the time, I don't think about it beyond that, so I end up with a lot of story beginnings. I was wondering if there's any interest in writing those down and giving them out for bases that people can use to write their own stories. Perhaps something to get the wheels spinning in your own mind.

This works under Mac and Linux too.. I don't have a Mac handy to see where the hosts file is there, but its under /etc/hosts on linux

I ran the software through its rebuild routines... see if that changes anything

So, really its a matter of what do you like the style of, do you care if it has USB 3.0 on the front of it, and how many fans do you want to stuff into it
