The power of Perseverance But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory though our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, Knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 NKJV A well-lived life is like a marathon, not a sprint it calls for preparation, determination, and, of course, lots of perseverance. As an example of perfect perseverance, we Christians need to look no further than our Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus finished what he began. Despite His suffering and despite the shame of the cross, Jesus was steadfast in his faithfulness to God. WE, too, must remain faithful, especially during times of hardship. Sometimes, God may answer our prayers with silence, and when he does, we must patiently persevere. Are you facing a tough situation? If so, remember this: Whatever your problem, God can handle it. Your job is to keep persevering until he does. Don't be impatient for the Lord to act! Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you... Psalm 37:34 NLT If things are tough, remember that every flower that ever bloomed had to go through a whole lot of dirt to get there. ~Barbara Johnson.

Follow Him If anyone serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, him my father will honor. John 12:26 NKJV Jesus walks with you. Are you walking with him? Hopefully, you will choose to walk with him today and every day of your life. Jesus loved you so much that he endured the unspeakable humiliation and suffering for you. How will you respond to Christ;s sacrifice? will you take up his cross and follow him (Luke 9:23), or will you choose another path? When you place your hopes squarely at the foot of the cross, when you place Jesus squarely at the center of your life, you will be blessed. If you seek to be a worthy disciple of Jesus, you must acknowledge that he never comes "next" He is always first. Do you hope to fulfill God's purpose for your life? Do you seek a life of abundance and peace? Do you intend to be a christian, not just in name, but in deed? Then follow Christ. Follow him by picking up his cross today and every day that you live. When you do, you will quickly discover that Christ;s love has the power to change everything, including you. "The Christian faith is meant to be lived moment by moment. it isn't some broad, general outline... It's a long walk with a real person. Details count: passing thoughts, small sacrifices, a few encouraging words, little acts of kindness, brief victories over nagging sins" Joni Eareckson Tada

Praying for Spiritual Growth Rjoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer Romans 12:12 HCSB On his second missionary journey, Paul started a small church in Thessalonica. A short time later, he penned a letter that was intended to encourage the new believers at that church. Today, almost 2,000 years later, 1 Thessalonians remains a powerful, practical guide for Christian living. In his letter, Paul advised members of the new church to "pray without ceasing." His advice applies to Christians of every generation. When we consult God on an hourly basis, we avail ourselves of his wisdom, His strength, and, His love. As Corrie ten Boom observed, "Any concern that is too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden." Today, intead of turning things over in your mind, turn them over to God in prayer. Instead of worrying about your next decision, ask God to lead the way. Don't limit your prayers to meals or bedtime. Become a person of constant prayer. God is listening, and He wants to hear from you. Now. Therefore, let everyone who is goldly pray to you Psalm 32:6 NASB Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:25 NKJV I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears Psalm 34:4 KJV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCtnCoYYWhU

Good morning today I am using a new devotional book and using the lessons of the day out of it and placing a song with them to inspire us each day as we face new challenges. Beyond Worry Don't worry about anything, but in everything, though prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6 HCSB If you are like most, it is simply a fact of life: from time to time, you worry. You worry about health about finances, about safety, about relationships, about family, and about countless other challenges of life, some great and some small. Where is the best place to take your worries? Take them to God. Take your troubles to Him, and your fears, and your sorrows. Barbara Jonson correctly observed, "Worry is the senseless process of cluttering up tomorrow's opportunities with leftover problems from today." so if you'd like to make the most out of this day (and every one hereafter), turn your worries over to a Power greater than yourself... and spend your valuable time and energy solving the problems you can fix.. while trusting God to do the rest. Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down Psalm 55:22 NCV

We must do the works of Him who set Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work. John 9:4 HCSB The words of John 9:4 remind us that "night is coming" for all of us. But until then, God gives us each day and fills it to the brim with possibilities. The day is presented to us fresh and clean at midnight, free of charge, but we must beware: Today is a non-renewable resource - once it's gone, it;s gone forever. Our responsibility, of course, is to this day in the service of God's will and in accordance with his commandments. Today is a priceless gift that has been given to you by God Don't waste it. Don't stand on the sidelines as life's parade passes you by. Instead, search for the hidden possibilities that God has placed along your path. This day is a one of a kind treasure that can be put to good use ... or not. Your challenge is to use this day joyfully and productively. And while you're at it, encourage others to do like wise. After all, night is coming when no one can work. This is the day the lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it Psalm 118:24 HCSB From the "A heart of Gratitude" it is today's Devotion
