Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I am a fence sitter for both the Christian faith and the furry fandom. While I posses a wide knowledge about cultural diversity I have yet to find a reason to strongly devote myself to one faith or another. Not to say i reject your faith in the slightest, just that i don't find myself wanting to commit, feel free to ask me about this privately, but i will not address religious quips in this thread. The furry fandom mystifies me. Some like light artwork, games like starfox, banjo, etc. Some like aspects of it that I'd rather not get into while in an introduction thread. And still others think they actually are animals, so the term furry is quite the blanket statement. I'm not saying to you now that any of these particular things are necessarily bad, but I do not want to stick a label on myself without understanding what it would fully lead other people to assume about me. Again, try to keep this thread for greeting and send any questions directly to me so we could handle them in a one on one environment. I am happy to make acquaintance with anyone I come across, I do hope you will welcome me to the site.

Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I'm not so interested at looking around for what's already been posted as talking with people personally about their thoughts. But thanks for the offer, I'm sure i can make a friend or two.

Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I can respect an answer like that Wisconsin. Favorite reply so far. An opinion is important to form on your own before having people try to shove it in your face. Thank you for the welcome.
Sakiki† 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 Anyone who tries to Shove any religion including Christianity down anyone's throat is probably not living right. Bible states to reach out gently when were reaching to others not use a battle ax and chop off their legs and leave them bleeding at the alter.
Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 A rather gruesome way to put it. But yes, if it is as all possible to convert me, it's with honey not vinegar.
Fahn† 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 It's about having a loving relationship with God and realizing He loves you too, not following a bunch of religious dogma. And there's nothing like it. That being said, we're very happy to have you here.
Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 The way you say it, it sounds like I can love myself, and others, while maintaining a respectful balance of morality and attitude, and still be doing the same thing, without there being a God involved. That being said, that's what I do, so I'm not exactly in a hurry to convert, just curious about what others think of my thoughts.
Fahn† 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 Forgive me if I seem too straightforward, but that's the exact opposite of what I was implying. Yes, loving yourself and others is important, as well as maintaining a high standard of morality and a good attitude; God expects it, but putting God as number one in every aspect of your life is the key, and the more you grow to love Him the more you realize just how much He loves and cares about you as well. And I'm not here to shove God down your throat or coerce you into conversion, so don't worry. Everyone is given every right to choose whatever they will, no matter what. But let's not create any tension or animosity between us or anyone here. This is a place for like-minded people to meet, be friendly, and share information and personal stories. You're most welcome here, I assure you, and I'm always glad to meet and greet a new member. I sincerely hope you plan on staying a while
Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I'm afraid I could never comply with putting God first in every aspect of my life, but I appreciate that you are willing to accept the differences we share and move on with a friendly relationship despite that. I also don't think a place with all like minded people would be very interesting, so excuse me if i ever say something that seems offensive, because i promise it's never meant that way. I would be glad to stay so long as i am welcome.
Fahn† 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I understand, don't worry. To clear things up, I meant people who have similar interests and hobbies, not a bunch of carbon copies . That would get boring fast to anybody, even if they all agreed on everything. How can anybody have fun and learn anything if there's not even a single differing opinion?
Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 But people with similar opinions can also have very conflicting opinions, which can cause debate. My point with this being that I may say something that disagrees with what someone else is saying, but i don't think friendly debate should necessarily be a problem, so long as the people involved with it are being calm and respectful towards each other. [/quote'] And it happens with everyone. Not even Christians agree with every little aspect of the faith. However, when things are kept civil and don't turn into name-calling and virtual fist-fights, there are no problems with conflicting opinions at all. For example, I believe that animals have souls. Not every Christian does, but that's no reason to bicker and fight.
Turnabout 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I agree with you. I'm an Atheist as of now, but i don't actively go out and put down others in their faith like some people do. If someone has questions about my lack of faith, and they address the issues they have with me in a respectful manner, it ends up a peaceful and often enjoyable, enlightening conversation from both ends. I don't mind people telling me things about their faith at all, I welcome hearing about things people feel, and i like extending a helping hand. I can't say I'm doing any Gods work because I don't personally have one, but I am trying to make myself, and everyone i come into contact with better people.
