I want to make a game...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm looking for some furs to help me make a game. And if your just gunna post it can't be done, the please go way right now.

I'm looking for 3D modellers, scripters, programers. All that stuff. But I already have a couple artists.

What will I do? I have the idea, and can do absolutely nothing with it. And thats why I'm asking for these people. Will you help me? Please?

If I can't find all the people, are anyone at all, I will move on to another website and look there.

Please, I say again, if your just gunna say how I can't do this, are how hard it will be, then don't post here.

What programs do you plan on using? I make games too, and I use Game Maker (currently working on a Zelda-type dungeon crawler using Fahn). If you use something like Sandbox or Blender, I can't help you. I have no experience with 3D rendering and don't have 3 grand to shell out for 3DS Max. The only programming language I have any knowledge of is GML, which is Game Maker exclusive (but based on C++).

Tell us what game creation program you plan on using, and the rendering program (if using 3D models and not 2D sprites). Also, give us a little insight as to what type of game you'd like it to be.

I'll tell ya what, if you wanna see some examples of work I've done, PM me and give me your email so I can send you some of my game files. Most of them were never finished (it's just a hobby)... but they're still good indicators.

I don't know. I was thinking on starting with some small mod for the Source engine. Or maybe some small mods for Skyrim, just some easy stuff before we move to making bigger things.

As for programs, I have no idea. I can hardly do anything along the lines of 3D modeling, or programing. Thats why I'm asking for people to help me :\

Oooo... I don't have any experience with mods or rendering. I hate to say it, but unless you don't mind your game having 16-bit SNES graphics, I don't know how much help I'd be. I make all of my graphics in MSPaint and make games that run on 16 - 32 bit graphics. If you have Yahoo IM send me a PM with your username and I'll get on and chat about it.

I'd love to help, but I've forgotten most of my knowledge of C++ and programming stuff ever since I stopped doing computer science as my college major. Though, if you plan on having music at all, I'd love to help - I've always wanted to try to do a soundtrack for something :P

But, just a tip, do a lot of planning before you start the development process. That way you won't have half the game done and then suddenly run into a creative block. Perhaps make an outline of the plot (if it's story driven), maps of the levels, a list of characters, stuff like that.

I'd also suggest starting simple. Not a lot of people have experience with rendering and programming languages, and trying to delve into making a 3D game with no experience and not much outside support would be biting off more than you can chew. A lot of rendering and mod programs have high learning curves, too.

I'd get something along the lines of Game Maker, RPG maker or even Sandbox or Alice (which are both 3D and supposedly easy to use.)

That would be great for a sound track. But as for the ideas, I have many, some have no story, so I don't have to worry about writers block. Yet. anyway, I want to start small, like I said in my previous post. Something like small mods. Like adding swords to Skyrim, or props to Gmod.

I can't 3D model, and I can't do anything. Thats why I'm looking for people with that can do these things.

And yes Riddle, you can help. But it depend on what you want to help with?

You would want a programmer who knows C# or C++, C++ will be more messy though.

If your just modding off a game engine(skyrims engine would probably be great for this, I dont have skyrim though), I could possibly help. But ive been really busy lately with my own business and stuff.

Source Engine furry skins would look kinda retarded, but ive seen some promising textures and skins in skyrim.

I can program, C#, lua, Assembly(No, I will not code your game in this God forsaken language), and a couple of proprietary languages based off lua.
