Fahn† 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2011 Some of you may remember me asking if I should get a didgeridoo. Well... instead of buying one, I made my own! It took weeks... had to cut down a tree and hollow it out by hand with chisels and a mallet. It's 72" long in the key of B. I've already mastered several techniques, including circular breathing, which enables several minutes to several HOURS of nonstop playing without having to stop for air. Not as gritty with the vocals as I would have liked it to be, but I made it out of a cypress tree, and the wood is pretty soft. I need to redo the finish on the outside because I only put one coat on. Also, the seam is pretty visible. Not a professional job by any means, but for a first try I think I did pretty good I can play basic rhythms, though I prefer to play a slow, meditative style.
