so I tried painting w/ GIMP

I'm pleased with the results, although they are ugly and rough. Still though, I wanted to give God a sense of imensity, power, and omniscience. He is fading against the edge because I wanted him to seem to almost evenesce and become one with His creation, which is a testament to His glory.

 

The smudge effect didn't work out very well in areas... it's annoying, but since I didn't use layers it'll take quite some time to fix.

 

I give it a 4/10, but I'm pleased nontheless.

Its better then you think, and better then what i can do in Gimp....I still have trouble getting the invisible layer to work. ^^

Holy cow! *jaw drops* I give this a 9/10. This is truly a work of art, and I think you should be very well pleased, instead of discouraged about it. You clearly captured gods almighty stature and power. I have a few questions: What type of drawing tablet did you use, and how long did this work of art take?

I love the message and the way you work with colors but I so want to crop this from the upper body and make it a landscape, there is just too much empty space at the bottom and it kind of makes you loose focus at the upper half. Please don't hate me for doing this but I think this will help improve the expression of the piece.

nah, don't worry, I understand. anyway, it was meant to be a test run to see how I can improve my painting skills. I can draw but I feel my painting is sub-par. Also, I didn't wanna overload it with GIMP effects.
