lemme explain it's kind of like another pro digital art problem very similar to photoshop THATS OPEN SOURCE AND FREE.

 

Now your all like: "kat thats what gimp is here for bro" this is best for lineart,

then you color in gimp and add fx :3!

 

Give it a try. It's mostly made for linux but there's a very experimental verision for windows. Give it a try guys! plz?

I've been following Krita's development for a few years now. I've liked it when I've been able to try it out.

 

It will be interesting to see how it improves over time. ^^

Also worth checking out MyPaint http://mypaint.intilinux.com/ (get the 32bit version even if you have a 64bit PC; the 64bit version has some weird bugs. Install link since their FTP server crashed: http://download.cnet.com/MyPaint/3000-6675_4-75324340.html?tag=rb_wrap;rb_content;contentBody )

 

Works really nicely and feels smooth.

lol funny it's like they all have their own signiture abillites:

 

krita: lineart

mypaint: painting/coloring etc

Gimp: FX

I see GIMP as a photo-manipulation program and not a artist/drawing program.

Gimp can do wonders with drawing, I draw on it all the time.

Krita looks pretty cool, I'll probably try it out soon. =)
