It would mostly depend on whether or not you intend to become serious with digital art and have enough skill in drawing to pursue another method of creation. If you think you're ready to move on then, by all means, move on. Maybe you should try to see if you can borrow a tablet from a friend or give it a little test run at a store or something.

Well, I've since moved on to Synth1, which is a pretty impressive piece of freeware. You should check it out if you haven't already!

Oh, yeah; Sytrus. I didn't buy the full version of FL, so I only used 3x OSC out of their default stuff. It sounds like Sytrus is working pretty well for you, though.

I'd be willing to try a trade at some point, but it might be a while before that time comes.

You seem to have a pretty decent sense of rhythm in "The Fickle Sea" up until you say "reminiscent" (just try reading it out loud without any punctuation), but you seem to feel the need to endstop every line. Y'might try sprinkling in a little enjambment now and then and see what it does. (EDIT: Oh, whoops! Sorta ninja'd.)
