Fahn† 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2012 Recently my laptop has a tendency to get very hot. There can only be one browser window open or an IRC window, and the fan will be going full steam and it feels very hot. Right now my laptop is using 50-65% cpu and this window is the only thing open. I don't know how to fix it. It also happens when I run anything, and may even do it while I'm running nothing. I keep my laptop well ventilated so the fan intake shouldn't be blocked. Fahn† 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2012 50-60% of your processor will cause a significant rise in temperature Yeah, but it shouldn't be that high when all I'm doing is opening a web-page!
Pikachu† 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2012 I would probably try to uninstall your web browser, then reinstall it. Maybe there is a bug. Sometimes applications become corrupt and use way more cpu than they should. :dodgy:
Hybrilynx† 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2012 theres still that disk defragmenter thing and disk clean up that can probably help like very little. the disk defragmenter pretty much cleans stuff up in the background, and disk clean up pretty much erases a bunch of stuff that usually isnt important, like the recycle bin. Perhaps shutting my computer down every night is a good idea.
