Final Fantasy XIII-2

Recommended Posts

So... anybody else here that's a FFFan and is excited for this new upcoming game? :D:heart::heart::heart:

I was personally a HUGE fan of FFXIII, and have clocked over 250 hours of gameplay across two play-throughs, and can't wait for this next game coming out in just a few weeks.

So I ask again... Anybody else supah excited? Anything in particular you're looking forward to in the game? Any characters that jump out at you (Caius FTW)? Already planning which monsters you'll use in the new summoning? Which ones? Squeeee!?

:P:heart::heart::heart::heart:

It's sort of hard to explain why I didn't like it, I normally would, but for some reason I just didn't enjoy myself playing it to where the game felt like a chore. There is something wrong with an rpg where I don't have to be looking at the tv to win. I actually got through like 3 chapters (in the middle of the game I don't remember which ones) while walking around my dorm hallway. I also didn't like how most of the game had you limited to a party of two, which is a shame because I felt the battle system was at it's best when you had a full party.

However, my favorite final fantasy's are 5,6,7, and 8(but just barely). I haven't played 2,3,and 4.

Yes, the story was good but the mashing of the X button being able to make you win was not that great. This new game is supposed to fix that and from what I saw in the demo, that issue seems to be fixed. You definitely won't be able to just sit around and casually COM/RAV/MED your way out of everything what with the new wound damage. Battles will have to be done and done efficiently. I love the leveling system as well. You definitely have to make choices as to what you want when you level up... for example if you want an extra ATB gauge segment, you'll have to sacrifice new jobs and bonuses for your current jobs.

Idk... it looks promising :P

Also like that you can change the difficulty. Should mean that for those that just want an interactive story, it'll work fine still.

Oh I forgot something that made me really mad was that every time the party would switch because of the story, the game would change all of your paradigms. It was so inconvenient.

What I didn't like about the story was how there was a bunch of times where one of the characters would start feeling sad and want to give up and they have like an intervention sort of and then fight the summon. Too repetitive in the storyline.

Also, I was playing the game on hard so there wasn't much I could change in terms of difficulty, unless I played blind folded.

Personally I'm would rather wait till Final Fantasy Verses 13.

I've played a lot of non-dead (NOT undead) games, and they all seemed pretty good to me.

12 was decent, 13 was okay but the auto-battle took a lot of the strategy out of the gameplay and makes level-grinding undesirable after you beat it... 10 was AWESOME. 11 is okay but it's kinda lame to be playing it alone D:

Yes, that was probably one of my only complaints... way too many fights can be one just be spamming "X" with a COM/RAV/MED setup, but it looks like that will be fixed in FFXIII-2. One thing I noticed is with the "wound" damage, you find yourself having to finish fights a lot more seriously then just waiting it out (I've only played the demo but from what I saw, there were many improvements).

I also like how much faster and more fluid the fights are. For example, switching paradigms no longer enters a mini-cutscene, and instead all your characters just switch at once. Also, the ability to change the leader in-battle is nice as well. No more losing just cause your leader got KO'ed.
