koshi† 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2010 So I finally hand-drew an avatar (and colored/edited it with GIMP) that didn't come out looking absolutely horrible, thanks in no small part to supervanman's anthro head tutorial . Look up some line-art tutorials on how to draw by stroking paths... it makes super smooth lineart, though it lacks any true touch of the artist's hand... koshi† 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2010 I drew it the old-fashioned way...pencils, pen, and paper . Then I scanned it and opened it with GIMP, and used a bucket fill to add colors. There were a bunch of white dots all around the outlines, so I applied a very light Oil Painting effect, which cleared up most of them. Then for the sun I just added a supernova effect.
