well, here goes.

Chapter 1

I, Tom Morgan, were a maroon. I were stranded on tis god forsaken place, called “Treasure Island”, aft our cap'n, one Long John Sil'er, port wi' th' part o' th' crew which had remained loyal. Ye see, we mutinied, wi' Sil'er as our new cap'n, cause we heard thar be treasure there. Aft Sil'er, th' old Devil, failed us, we assaulted him. Thar were five among us, a pair remain'n aft th' last fight

It were a wonder me three shipmates 'n I ha’n’t come to blows; to th’ contrary, we had agreed t’ team t’gether t’ build ourselves a wee boat. Th’n, we’d head out t’ sea, 'n see if we can’t make it t’ land, d*** even want’d t’ give a go' 'n be off back into piracy. What a fool he were.

‘Bout the third week of gatherin’ supplies, d*** n’ I got ‘ n’ta a fight o’er some rations. “Those were min’” he w’d shout. He di’n’t e’en know ‘nough to count! I fired a shot in the air, ‘n he did too. We threw oaths at each other for 5 min’ts. I weren’t ‘timdated, and he took another shot, aimin’ straight ‘t me tis time, n’ kill me he did. Tha’s right, I’re talkin’ to ye from below, or ‘bove, or wherever this darn’d place be.

d*** ‘n James, James were th’ other maroon, h’d to spend e’ch day gatherin’ firwood n’ gettin’ sprin’ water, ‘cause I were gone, n’ without me th’y di’n’t have ‘nough han’s t’ gather boat s’pplies.’ventually, one day, light’n struck a tree, it did, and i w’tched ‘em gatherin’ wood wi’ ease. Th’n, they had ‘nuff time left over t’ g’t workin’ sta’ted on th’ boat. I were watchin’ em, from w’ree’r I are, in fru’tra’n wi’ thy’re success. I’d stopped payin’ g’d ‘ttention, ‘till I heard a scream. Th’ fool d*** h’d lost grip o’ his hammer! It struck ‘im square ‘n ‘is head, it did, ‘n I watched, ‘n laughed, ‘n he stated babbling bout being a sto’y book cha’acta.”’tis a book, see? I’s j’st a sto’y! we d’nt exist!” James j’st put th’ lad down wi’ ‘is cutlass.

James now h’d to manage ‘n ‘is own, ‘n th’ work on the boat was halted. O, ye c’n ‘magine I were pleased! Hee hee hee!!! ‘daily life ‘sisted o’ headin’ to th’ spring, bringin’ back water, n’ waitin’ for a ship to pass by. N’, what ye know, one day, someone d’d pass by- but th’y were thar t’ stay. Th’yre shipwrecked, too! And who might it be, but ol’ sil’er.

Chapter 2

Sil’er semmed ‘n shock, why, I di’nt know quite yet. B’t, he h’d clerly got wha he ‘served, he were sick wi’ scurvy, n’ were starved, n’ had been livin’ off a canteen o’ water. James shoulda j’st killed the man, b’t ‘stead, he gave him th’ last of th’ food rations, ‘n th’ medicines ‘n such. James w’d go n’ hunt ‘n gather now.

W’n siler were better, he ‘splained th’t he h’d got caught up ‘n a curr’nt. W’ll, James brought sil’er a gun, ‘n th’y sta’ted huntin’ more. Sil’er were a g’d shot, and killed twice what th’y both need.

Coupla weeks pass’d,and th’y resumed work ‘n th’ boat. Sturdy, she were, it ‘stounds me to tis day tha’ th’y ‘ccomplished it. Sure, she were sturdy, alright, b’t she weren’t b’g nough th’y could b’th fit comft’bly. ‘prisn’ngly ‘nough, sil’er semmed satisfied. B’t, james…

“arr, ye scurvy dog! Who be th’ one who caused t’is? Ye were!” b’th men drew a pistol ‘n a han’, ‘n a cutlass in th’ other. James fired a shot, ‘n hit his mark, ‘n, th’ last act o’ cap’n Long John SIl’er, were to take his cutlass, ‘n swing at James Roberts. The ol’ man missed, n’ fell t’ th’ gr’nd.James tried to leave th’ island, he d’d, but the waves made it h’rd. aft quite a bit o’ tryin’, he broke through the waves. His boat appea’d to be safe ‘gain. Aft’ all o’ his w’rk, he fin’lly made it to open sea. Tis were all g’d’n w’ll, fr’m his ‘spective, ‘nyway, until he noticed a ‘stake he made. W’n he were in o’en sea, wi’ no land ‘n sit, he noticed… he, in ‘is ‘sitement, h’d f’rgotten t’ figger out which way he were goin’.
