Daily Light for September 30

Recommended Posts

Morning

“He knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.”

He knows our frame.—He does not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men.

God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.” Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the LORD.—“I will . . . refine them as one refines silver. . . . They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The LORD is my God.’”

Evening

Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.

Moses said to the LORD, . . . “If I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you. . . .” And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”—He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel.

He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. . . . Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.—Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.—I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.—The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.
