Post-o-Matic 3.16† 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2008 Morning The goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared. “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.—And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.—Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh. Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil. Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! . . . Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!—For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. He . . . did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all.—“He had still one other, a beloved son. Finally he sent him.” Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of men!—Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” 2 Cor. 9:15; Ps. 100:1, 2, 4; Isa. 9:6; Rom. 8:32; Mark 12:6; Ps. 107:21; Ps. 103:1; Luke 1:46, 47 (Read full verses...) << Dec 24 | Dec 25 | Dec 26 >> Excerpted from Daily Light on the Daily Path ©2002 Crossway Books, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers.
