Recommended Posts

*looks up from map. I hope this is the right place... *brushes the dirt off his fur and gives a personalized introduction.

My real name is Thomas

But you can call me: Direlda (it means "Watcher of the Stars" in Tolkien's Elvish), Алёша (Alyosha), Mr. Tomness (because of my Irish whistle playing and scraggly-beardedness)

My fursona is a red fox. His fur is rust-orange with a white belly, white tipped tail, black tipped ears, and black paws. Probably has distinguishing markings, but haven't figured them out yet (college does that...).

I'm 20 revolutions around the sun old (perceived age fluctuates)

I am male

I live in the Pacific Northwest, and sometimes I call my college Rivendell

You can wing virtual words my way at: direlda@gmail.com

I don't really IM

You can stop by my unfinished website or see some of my work on my deviantart page.

I am an Artist/Writer. I write fantasy stories (for my major!), though have not had any published yet (unless you count posting on DA). I'm also teaching myself (with help from Art major friends) how to draw. I also play musical instruments, such as the didgeridoo, Irish whistle, bodhran, and piano.

My style? 何? My writing is influenced by Tolkien, Lewis, L'Engle, Homer, and Beowulf, but it's becoming more and more my own. I'm not sure about my drawing style or my musical style. Is that what was meant?

I almost went to Rainfurrest, but I took care of a friend's grandmother instead. So, no, I have not been to any cons.

My fav. music includes: Enya, Coldplay, Beethoven, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Nobuo Uematsu, John Williams, Newsboys, and David Crowder Band

I like Jesus, camping, the outdoors, foxes, writing, cloud watching, astronomy, thinking, languages, Japan, anime, Dostoevsky, Tolkien, and stories

I dislike mayonnaise and homework

My Church Denomination is Protestant (since I've been a United Methodist, Nazarene, Southern Baptist, Evangelical Bible, and Presbyterian). I know it's not actually a denomination, but it's the smallest that fits. Personally, I prefer Christian, follower of Jesus, or follower of The Way.

Anything else: 私の名前はデレーダです。 私は日本に行きたいから、日本語をべんきょうします。 Я тоже говорю по-русски чуть-чуть. *lies down on his back, folding his paws behind his head, and watches the clouds drift across a blue sky while he listens for responses

When I saw the title I thought you may be a mole or some such. Anyhow I have a Tolkien name too! Nervagor (Pretty sure it's really spelled Narvagor but Nervagor looks cooler) for "swords man" ^_^ My sister is a big fan of absolutely all of those books. She's also the walking Tolkien encyclopedia. Whatever you do DON'T ALTER TOLKIEN AROUND HER! I can't stress that enough. Anyhow nice to see a fox round here! I think you're the only one besides Flech himself but I'm not sure. I'm the forums crazy dragon!

*bows Nice to meet both of you! ^_^

Don't worry about changing your usertitle, HoboFawkes, it's close enough.

Thanks for the warning, Robin, though I'm also a Tolkien encyclopedia and also do not like altering Tolkien. He has inspired me, but I try to avoid copying him. Do you know if your sister is familiar with Mr. Bliss? It's a Tolkien story with some anthropomorphic characters and a Girabbit!

*bows Nice to meet you, too.

MomCat - I live in Oregon when I'm not up here in Rivendell. The only thing I don't miss about Oregon is the grass pollen (my allergist told me that the Willamette Valley is one of the world's top three producers of grass pollen...). And yes, Enya's voice is beautiful.

Robin - here is some info on Mr. Bliss. I borrowed the book from a library and enjoyed it. And the website is a good source of information on all of Tolkien's works. Roverandom is another fun one. Both of them are children's books, but I still enjoyed them.

Ah welcome aboard kind sir.

I am the train nut here as well as nautical History with 1900's steam liners.

As for Tolkien, my brother enjoyed the books, I still need to read them sometime.

Also, Cool Beans on your location I find the place a lovely area, I was born there but sadly I no longer live in the area, but being so close to the ocean you are lucky.

As for the valley I have heard it is a beautiful place mom and dad have been there but I sadly have never been.

Once again welcome aboard and I hope you enjoy your time here.
