Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God.’”—He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. You were ransomed . . . not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. Evening But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect.—Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.—But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.—I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion.—Day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty.”—“The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me.”—Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.—Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
