English 1012 Chapter 10 Interview Questions Feb 1, 2011 Jack Founder 1. Jack Founder is a old man I know who lives in Leary, Ga. He never graduated school but can read and write. He also self-taught himself math. From a early age he worked at local farms most of his adult life. He has a huge knowledge of horses, cows and most dogs seen locally. He was married with a son but both died in car wreck back in the 70’s. 2. When I turned 16 I started to work for Mr. Jones. He needed someone to help feed his hunting dogs. Then after a few months he said I did good with them then moved me to helping out with the cows. 3. How long have you been doing public speaking? You mean me sitting here in front of this store? As long as I have wanted too. I love seeing old faces and seeing people passing by. I really don’t think of myself as a public speaker. But if you talk to me then I will talk to you. 4. What was your first fear of doing public speaking? Do you still have those fears? I guess the 1st time I have fear of public speaking was when I proposed to my wife. I did it in church. My greatest fear was her saying no in front of all those people. And do I have that fear still? No, I ain’t going to get married again. 5. What advice would you give a person who has to do public speaking? You shouldn’t be scared of public speaking. It’s just like talking a bunch of friends, only there are more of them and most of them you may not know. 6. What are the pros and cons of using visual aids within a presentation? Heck, I don’t know. Never had to use them.
