Post-o-Matic 3.16† 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Morning As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings.—I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.—You believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory. In a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.—To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things.—Has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?—And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Cor. 6:10; Rom. 5:2, 3; 2 Cor. 7:4; 1 Pet. 1:8; 2 Cor. 8:2; Eph. 3:8, 9; Jas. 2:5; 2 Cor. 9:8 (Read full verses...) Evening The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them.—“Lord, he whom you love is ill.”—“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.—I can do all things through him who strengthens me. So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.—“In him we live and move and have our being.”—He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength.—“The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Ps. 41:3; Isa. 63:9; John 11:3; 2 Cor. 12:9; Phil. 4:13; 2 Cor. 4:16; Acts 17:28; Isa. 40:29-31; Deut. 33:27 (Read full verses...) << Apr 6 | Apr 7 | Apr 8 >> Excerpted from Daily Light on the Daily Path ©2002 Crossway Books, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers.
