Daily Light for March 28

Recommended Posts

Morning

“Be strong and courageous.”

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?—He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.—My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

If God is for us, who can be against us?—The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?—Through you we push down our foes; through your name we tread down those who rise up against us.—We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

“Arise and work! The LORD be with you!”

Evening

“Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep.”

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. . . . But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

When all the nation had finished passing over the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua . . . “and command them, saying, ‘Take twelve stones from here out of the midst of the Jordan, from the very place where the priests' feet stood firmly.’ . . . So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever’.”—“This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.”—Chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

John 11:11; 1 Thess. 4:13, 14; 1 Cor. 15:16-18, 20; Josh. 4:1, 3, 7; Acts 2:32; Acts 10:41 (Read full verses...)
