router is getting on my very last epic nerve

i can give the details later which i will, but in short for now, no matter how many times i reset the router or waiting 30 seconds unpluging it etc etc everytime its either the wireless connection will work, or the wired connection will work. not too sure about wireless, but wired still lags alittle bit T-T. but thats the problem. i cant have both anymore. just one or the other. when wireless is working, it only works if theres nothing plugged in the back (the wired plug that goes into the xbox and computer). but what im also starting to notice is that it goes off after awhile if it is working too. and its really Really annoying. i wanted to upload a video of what i see on the computer, but it was messing up the upload. tomorrow though i can upload it by removing the router and using the cox box thing. becuz we use a cox thing, then the router for wireless.

 

does anyone knows what it might be? also, going to my router thing viewing it as a webpage (you know, like the url is 111.222.44/ or something) it also lags viewing that. like images does load or anything, and the web page is all messed up. please help.

we spend $50 for ours at target. $36 seems like it may be less quality then what we already have. but then again, it was maybe 2 years ago. but i think the router is broken though. now the computer doesnt really even say its connected. its not the internet becuz now im on the computer with the internet but the router is out. and when we plug it back in, like turn on the power, all the lights turn on (for like a second, becuz it just got power) except the wireless light. then after 30 seconds i think, the wireless light turns on. then like 20 minutes later, everything stop working T-T or something like that. i dont think im going to show a video becuz its almost obvious that its dying, but heres what we got. image.

 

i made a video yesterday about what i see on the computer, but really its pretty useless. i guess its just showing you how messed up my router is T-T also the video is taking forever to upload too. i might end up forgetting about it. currently it says i have 90 minutes left until its done uploading T-T and its not time lapsed so its pretty boring to watch anyway. but here it is (90 minutes before its done) just for the heck of it.

The routers I linked to are some of the best that money can buy as far as home grade stuff is concerned.

If you feel competent, I'd highly suggest putting DD-WRT on the router you have. Depending on the router, it might be a simple process, it might not be.

 

Cisco (Linksys) routers are really awesome routers, but the little operating system that they come with is garbage. Running an alternate system on them really makes 'em shine. I suggest the ebay auction there because the guy installs DD-WRT for you.
