Wolfheart1002† 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2011 I was playing fallout: new Vegas yesterday and I wanted to delete the updates so I could make the game easier (some glitches let you get unlimited money or experience) so I went to system settings, memory and I deleted 2 out of 3 updates, and those 2 were the latest updates available. The game was working fine until I deleted the last update, when I tried to load a saved game it would freeze in the middle of the loading screen. Any help on how to fix it would be appreciated. thanks.

You have to remember that as the xbox firmware gets updated, the game also has to stay up to date to properly function with it. Patches aren't all for just bugs and glitches, a lot of them fix performance bugs and crashes. With PC you have a lot more lee-way with patches and such, but with consoles, they are running are like 4 year old tech. Consoles are going to be a lot more sensitive to performance bugs(which will cause crashes eventually) due to the fact that they are running on outdated technology. Wolfheart1002† 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2011 Yea I suspected that the update was also stopping some of the performance glitches.
HuskyDog† 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 The save game format probably changed with the update, and by deleting it, you basically have caused the game to be incompatible with your save game files. That's probably why it froze - they don't expect you to load the new format saved games with an unpatched version of the game.
