For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.—Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.—Whom God made our wisdom and our righteousness and sanctification and redemption.—Not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith.
