Eagle_I† 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 I know I am different, I know I'm unique But people treat me differently As if I'm less than they can be Why won't they understand? Will they ever see? Is there a normal? Is it really? I'm not sure that's what I'd want to be... by Eagle I ....if that's how I'd treat people... ..like me?
HuskyDog† 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 Treat everyone with respect and love. There is no condition for sameness or difference, behavior or belief. We are all different. In fact, this reminds me of a self-quote that I have had since I was in 8th grade (I believe). This was before I found furry and everything. I didn't stress over being different, inasmuch as I just wanted to be me. "There is no such thing as normal. We are all weird in our own way." Truthfully, "normal" is an illusion. There are cultural "norms" but everyone has their own quirks, habits, and oddities. If someone was truly normal (as we perceive "normal" to be), that person would be truly weird. Direlda† 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2010 Part of why I wear my faux fox ears and tail is to remind myself to not treat people differently based on their appearance. And while normal may be an illusion, it is one that many people believe to not be an illusion...
