Hey there. If you haven't noticed, I'm new.

The main reason I came here was to ask for help.

And I'm going to get down to brass tacks, and I will be honest.

Now this is adult themed, so if you haven't received the talk, please go away. No seriously...

For the past year and a half, I have struggled with addiction to pornography and masturbation. Now, I have tried to stop from time and time again. I have gone through a minor depression and I still am not "clean". To be honest, I don't know what to do. I feel like there's nothing I can do that I haven't tried already.

So...any tips?

If not, I would love for you to pray for me.

I have much more to say, but have to leave, so talk to you later, I guess?

Hello there dude. Thought I’d just share some stuff with you.

My name is Benjamin and I am also 16 years old. I have struggled with Pornography in the past too, however,

the desire has been firmly cut off by the grace of God! I am a new person, set apart from the desires of my flesh—and so can you be too!

I've been where you are!

First I’d like to say that God loves you and you are a blessing to Him even in all your imperfection!

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness,

and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”” – Romans 10:10-11

(John 3:16 – The “world” referring to YOU)

In order to start, you’ll need to ask yourself some questions.

  1. Is your desire to quit stronger than your desire to continue? (But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. - James 1:14)
  2. Do you [really] believe that God has set you free from sin?
  3. Are you willing to make changes to your life, whether it be routine or removing possible temptations?
  4. If you stop, what are you going to fill in the time with?

One of the most important things you must understand is that you need to make a true effort to stop.

If you’re being tempted during the night, especially when your mind is vulnerable to lustful thoughts,

make sure you hand your phone or laptop over to your parents and tell them that you are struggling.

You need to bring out into the open [to those who love you, such as a very close friend or mother/father] and acknowledge that you want to be free from this.

Sin thrives in the darkness, but cannot survive under the light of love and the Word of God.

Remove any and all possible temptations that would cause you to stumble!

If there is a movie or show that has any sexual themes to it, stop watching; similarly keep yourself righteousness (right standing before God)

by holding fast and meditating on His Word [The Bible] daily—keeping your mind washed by the outpouring of your heart.

The Word of God edifies the spirit and heart, so if you were to fill yourself up with it, then your heart would have no room

for anything else! Now, what do we know that the heart does? It’s a pump, right?

The heart acts as a pump for the pure Word of God to consistently and constantly wash your mind.

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might sin against you” – Psalm 119:11

“Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart!
They also do no iniquity;
They walk in His ways.
You have commanded us
To keep Your precepts diligently.” – Psalm 119:2-4

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful,

who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,

but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness,

faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” – 2 Timothy 2:22

Flee, don’t give any room to the devil nor allow the birds of lust and perversion to nest in your hair.

Everyone is tempted, but it’s unbiblical to give way for those thoughts to nest in your hair!

And we know what the Bible defines righteousness as!-- It is right-standing before God.

“Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these

commandments before the Lord our God, as He has commanded us.” – Deuteronomy 6:25

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;

old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

You are made new through Christ! If you believe in Him, then you are a new creation,

and diligently seek His ways (His Word, the Bible) —so you are not being held to the standards of a sinful life anymore!
"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

We are the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God through Jesus! You are a righteous son of God! Flee from temptation and choose life!
"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!"
"Therefore I rejoice that I have confidence in you in everything."
- 2 Corinthians [5:17,21] [9:15] [7:16]

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105

How do you believe that God really means this?

--God loved you so much that before you were even aware of His love and grace towards you

He still would have given His only Son to die on the cross so that you could have eternal life and fellowship with Him!

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

“For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace” – Romans 6:14

“And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned.

For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation,

but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification.” – Romans 5:16

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit,

if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” - Romans 8:6-9

You were justified through Christ’s death and God’s grace poured out on all WHO BELIEVE!

Jesus took all the sin of the world onto himself and died according to the law (which is pretty much the 10 commandments)

that we could have never fulfilled ourselves, but He was the only man that lived and HAD NO SIN!

Because of this, he was able to take our death upon himself fulfill the law

that we might be justified by grace through faith (believing) in Him and (confessing) WHAT HE DID (for you)!

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” – Colossians 1:13-14

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,

who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh,

God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,” – Romans 8:1-3

– Faith is believing—how do we ‘get’ faith?

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” – Romans 10:17

Our faith comes by reading the love letter that God wrote to each of us. Dude, the God of heaven and earth wrote you a letter—you should check it out!

Our faith is built up through revelation and knowledge of His Word and by His Word and what is within that we overcome temptation!

The more you read what He has said about you and to you the more you’ll understand and realize just how awesome and real He truly is!

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died,

and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears,

then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth:

fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” – Colossians 3:2-5

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God,

that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,

but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness,

against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God,

that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore,

having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,…” – Ephesians 6:10-14

I seriously suggest reading Ephesians chapter 1 and 1 Peter chapter 2, and Jeremiah 1:5-9. Actually, just go read it right now.

When you are feeling tempted, cast down the thought and dwell on the Word of God that you know or received from your daily reading!

Grab your Bible or turn on some worship music, grab your electronic device and give it to your parents or set it on the other side of the house. Whatever it takes!

I have so much I would love to share with you!

The Bible is so rich and has an unimaginable amount of revelation within! I’ll leave you with a couple more awesome scriptures:

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just,

whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report,

if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:8-9

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit,

if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love,

being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit,

but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not

only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. – Philippians 2:1-4

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9

Say this prayer with your heart and lips out loud:

Lord, thank you so much for everything you've done for me! I am so sorry that I have departed from the path that you've put before me!

I repent and ask that your grace and love will be shed abroad in my life once again and I thank you that you are doing it now.

Lord, come into my heart and fill me; take away any lustful desires that I have allowed in my life.

Thank you Lord for dying on the cross and resurrecting with new life for me.

I thank you God for making me a new creation and for making me righteous and justified before you!

God, from this day forward, I will no longer rely on my own strength, but in every way I will make your Word as a rock in my life.

I worship and praise you Lord for everything you've done and will continue to do in my life-- and through me!

I know that I am saved, I am born again, I am on my way to heaven, and that sin no longer has dominion over me, because I believe- and I have you in my heart!

Thank you, Lord! AMEN

I hope this was all easy to read and understand! Love you dude!!

Remember to turn to God, always; repent (ask forgiveness-- turn the other way and run from sin) and allow His Word

to flow through your life and guide your path [unto righteousness and eternal life]!All the answers were given to you in the book that sent to you!

Benjamin, thank you so much. You have no idea how much I needed this. It was certainly an answer to prayer.

I will attempt to read my Bible much more often now, as I've definitely gotten a little lax on that.

Thanks again~

Really? I didn't see it. Is it the "daily prayer" board?

Below "Role play" and above "daily bible readings". It might not show up if you didn't completely register your profile. Some of the boards are oddly hidden to some users.
