Alright so I believe it is important to know what our bible says. So with some help and such I have started studding prophesy. Like who are some of the great prophets. We have Jeremiah, Isaiah and Micah. Now what made a prophet a prophet? We read in deturonomy where Mosses abswer this question. If the words spoken do not come to pass then they did not come from God. And false prophets where then stoned to death. And the three prophets I named have made many prophesy s. Both short term and long term. But I wish to start in Isaiah. Specicifally 52:13-53. Talkong about the coming Messiah

3 See, my servant will act wisely[b];    he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him[c]—    his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being    and his form marred beyond human likeness—15 so he will sprinkle many nations,[d]    and kings will shut their mouths because of him.For what they were not told, they will see,    and what they have not heard, they will understand.53 Who has believed our message    and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,    and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,    nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,    a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.Like one from whom people hide their faces    he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.4 Surely he took up our pain    and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God,    stricken by him, and afflicted.5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,    he was crushed for our iniquities;the punishment that brought us peace was on him,    and by his wounds we are healed.6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,    each of us has turned to our own way;and the Lord has laid on him    the iniquity of us all.7 He was oppressed and afflicted,    yet he did not open his mouth;he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,    and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,    so he did not open his mouth.8 By oppression[e] and judgment he was taken away.    Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living;    for the transgression of my people he was punished.[f]9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,    and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence,    nor was any deceit in his mouth.10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,    and though the Lord makes[g] his life an offering for sin,he will see his offspring and prolong his days,    and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.11 After he has suffered,    he will see the light of life[h] and be satisfied[i];by his knowledge[j] my righteous servant will justify many,    and he will bear their iniquities.12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,[k]    and he will divide the spoils with the strong,[l]because he poured out his life unto death,    and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many,    and made intercession for the transgressors.

I confess that it's often too easy for me to take Christ's sacrifice for granted. Reading this passage (and Isaiah 53) helps remind me of the magnitude of what He went through on our behalf.

So basically, every single time I say "Oh it's a sin like any other, I'm gonna go do this sexual thing again", Jesus is striken with the nail through his hand, right? It just makes me feel like I'm a bad person.

Now this isnt exactly the answer to your question but I have confidence your smart enough to connect the two. But its the same topic. Just remeber through Grace we have been saved. Not because we loved Him but because He loved us first.

I'm not a fan of Lindsey in general due to his views on eschatology, but this particular page is pretty good.

Ohhhh! So that's why Jesus didn't come immediately! Wow! This answers lots of questions.

Edit: I mean that Jesus didn't come immediately after Genesis, but first, God had to set up some standards like the works. After that, Jesus came. Correct?

Im gonna assume yes?

Ok more on prophesy, so the bible was written by 40 men from various walks of life over the course of 1500 years over three contents (thank you Josh). Take a minute to wrap your head around that concept. Mind blowing.

Speaking of false prophets, hal lindsey seems to be one... Apparently he predicted Christ would return within 40 years of 1948... it is now 2016 and well past 1988.  If I recall right he is also a proponent of a pre-trib rapture theory, which is also false doctrine...  Just FYI. (see also here: http://www.biblicalp...w_puzzle/3.html )

Personally, I tend to shy away from modern "prophecy" stuff in large part because of types like lindsey, harold camping, darby, and others, its a minefield of false teachers, false prophets, and false christs, all trying to hook someone with some manner of malarkey that they can't really back up or needs a "secret special knowledge" to interpret.  Christ will get here when He gets here, no?

But hey do be careful o.o

Ephesians 5:11
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of evil, but rather, Expose them.
