"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
Galatians chapter 6, verse 9.
We plough the field, plant the seed, water it-- but we cannot expect it to even sprout right then, let alone bear the fruits of our labours.
So too can we not expect things to do as we want immediately after we put in so much work, nor can we just sit idle and hope our foundation sees it build itself-- for we must continue to work to build things up, to see things grow, and to keep them flourishing. So keep going, and don't give up.
"For you know the testing of your faith produces steadfastness."
James chapter 1, verse 3.
And even though no shoots are seen for the first week, and even though the fruit is not produced in the first year, we can keep trying and see our faith in it all tested. And this can be our anchor. So when we finally see the fruits of our labour, as I continue to be cliche, you can know that it was not all for naught-- and thus be even more steadfast and less liable to want to give up next time.
Are you being patient, even as you wait to see anything come of your work? Are you still working at it?
